(2) Taste the local food- Tunisia boasts many delicious dishes for travelers coming from abroad. A visit to Tunisia is never complete without trying its specialty Couscous along with other popular dishes such as salada mechwia, ooja, and grilled lamb, amongst others.

(3) Visit the Sahara- No trip to Tunisia is complete without visiting the Sahara Desert. Desert excursions are offered in southern cities such as Douz and Tozeur and give you a firsthand look into Bedouin life and culture.

(4) Shop till you drop- Tunisia boasts many markets, souqs, throughout the country. These souqs are great places to find good deals on souvenirs, clothing, and other items. If you like bargaining, Tunisia is the place for you as you can negotiate on prices for most items found in the souq.

(5) Visit some Roman ruins- Tunisia has no shortage of Roman ruins to visit for history lovers. The two most impressive and better preserved Roman ruin sites are in Dougga and Sbeitla. Also make sure to visit the Colosseum in El Jem, which is the 3rd largest built in the Roman Empire.
